The Collection of James “Quick” Parker

Buying CFL Helmets and Jerseys

As an avid CFL fan and sports collector, I’m always interested in buying CFL helmets and jerseys. Now that you know a little about me, you’ll understand why it was a great honor to have been chosen by CFL Hall of Famer James “Quick” Parker, when he wanted to sell some memorabilia from his career. Beyond purchasing some old helmets and jerseys from him, it was a unique opportunity to hear some incredible stories from his time in the Canadian Football League. He was an integral part of the Edmonton Eskimos from 1980-83 (the greatest dynasty in CFL history)! He went on to play for both the Toronto Argonauts and the BC Lions afterwards! To personally handle some of the items he and other guys wore on the field, is testament to how physically demanding the sport is! The lasting impression of that deal was the dedication and commitment he had to endure to last 12 years in professional football, when some guys don’t make it through their first training camp!

More About James “Quick” Parker

Though small, Parker was famed for his quick burst off the line of scrimmage. He won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award three times (1982, 1984, 1986) and was an all star six times. He played in five Grey Cup games, winning four championships. During 1984 season, his first with the BC Lions, he had 26.5 sacks in a single season which is still a CFL record. Parker has the fourth-highest number of regular season quarterback sacks in CFL history, with 139.5.
Parker was inducted into the Wake Forest University’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2001. In November 2006, he was voted one of the CFL’s Top 50 players (#21) of the league’s modern era by Canadian sports network The Sports Network/TSN. [Wikipedia]
